Operations and Apparatus  


 

The Operations and Apparatus department is responsible for the ordering and stocking of all medical supplies and equipment, as well as scheduling vehicle maintenance.

The department is also responsible for proposing upgrades for vehicles and medical supplies, and for the maintenance of the University EMS supply room.

1826:
Ford F-350 Chassis with a Frazer Bilt Module

Profile:
1826 is the University EMS primary response unit. It is equipped with an onboard gas powered electrical generator that provides power for the module as well as powers the emergency response lighting. 1826 is also equipped with a rear dump system that allows for easier access to the module when the rear doors open.

1810:
Ford F-350 Chassis with a Frazer Bilt Module

Profile:
1810 is the older of the two ambulances and is used as a secondary response vehicle, or is used as a primary response vehicle when 1826 is out of service for maintenance or repair. It is similarly equipped with an onboard generator which powers a heavy duty climate control system. Both units are climate controlled constantly with an external shore-line power outlet.

4494:
Ford Crown Victoria

Profile:
4494 is used primarily by on duty supervisors and ALS certified volunteers as a quick response vehicle (QRV). 4494 is equipped with all MICU equipment including heart monitors and defibrillators, drugs, and a jump-bag with trauma and medical supplies.
