Communications

The communications department of Texas A&M EMS answers 900-1000 calls for help each year. The dispatch staff is composed completely by student volunteers who operate Sentinel 911 computers and CAD (computer aided dispatch) systems. Once the call is answered, the dispatcher then uses the CAD computers equipped with RightCad dispatch software and ProQA questioning software to determine response priorities, page appropriate units, and to send units to the scene of the call. All communications with EMS units are completed by utilizing a Motorola
