The Clinical Coordinator shall
have responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
- Shall develop and implement an effective quality assurance/quality
improvement for continuous system and patient care improvement.
- Will oversee the development, revision, and authorization of protocols,
policies, and procedures for all patient care activities from triage
through treatment and transport in conjunction with the EMS Medical Director.
- Will develop, implement, and maintain an EMS protocol exam in conjunction
with the Chief.
- Will oversee the usage, purchase, and accountability of all EMS medical
equipment and supplies.
- Will coordinate the evaluation of all TAMU EMS personnel, including
periodic spot checks on skills and knowledge.
- In conjunction with the medical director, EMS Manager, and Chief, shall
oversee the removal of a provider from medical care duties for due cause,
using an appropriate review and appeals mechanism.
- Will ensure that all EMS vehicles, including EMS bikes, are properly
stocked with appropriate equipment, medications, and supplies per EMS
protocols and TDH Standards.
- Will develop, implement, and maintain an inventory control mechanism
to track usage, expirations, and par levels of supplies.
- Will assist with the identification for QA/QI in medical supplies.
- Will report directly to the Chief.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Clinical Coordinator shall meet the following qualifications:
- Must be an EMT-P
or LP (TDH.)
- Must have served
as an In-Charge for one fall or spring semester.
- Must be a current
student at TAMU.
- Must be in good standing
with the TAMU and TAMU EMS.
