The Training Captain shall have
responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
- Shall evaluate and keep records on all personnel for training needs,
skills deficiencies, and member certifications.
- Shall validate EMS trainees
for continued employment.
- Will oversee the development, implementation,
and continuation of all EMS training, and continuing education.
- Will
oversee the qualifications of pre-hospital personnel involved in patient
care and dispatch by maintaining an on-going program involving
education, testing, and credentialing.
- Will report directly to the Chief.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Training Captain shall meet the following qualifications:
- Must be minimally
an EMT-B or higher by the Texas Department of Health for at least
one long semester.
- Must have held the position of medic for one fall
or spring semester.
- Must be a certified CPR instructor certified by
the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Must be a current
student at TAMU.
- Must be in good standing with the TAMU and TAMU EMS.
