815, Training Lieutenant  

The position will have the following duties:
  1. Will coordinate the development, implementation, and revision of the field training program preparing employees for the positions of in-charge and attendant.
  2. Will design and implement written procedures for training, testing, and designation of EMS employees for the in-charge and attendant levels.
  3. Shall be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a TDH approved in-house continuing education program.
  4. Will provide monthly continuing education opportunities as necessary to meet the needs of the service.
  5. Will maintain EMS employees credential files, including, but not limited to, state and national certifications and licenses; PALS, ACLS, BTLS, PHTLS, HIPAA, CPR, and AED.
  6. Will provide CPR training for members of TAMU EMS and TAMU community as needed.

The position shall have the following qualifications:

  1. Must be certified as an EMT-Basic or higher by the Texas Department of Health for at least one long semester.
  2. Must be a certified CPR instructor, certified by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  3. Must be a currently enrolled student at TAMU.
  4. Must be in good standing with the University and TAMU EMS.
