Calling 911

When calling 911 from a campus phone, you must dial a "9" in order to reach an outside line. This means that you must actually dial 9-911 or you will be unable to reach a 911 operator. When calling from a cell phone, simply dial 911 as usual.

Remember to remain calm. The 911 operator will need to know your location, the phone number you are calling from, and what is going on. Providing this information quickly and clearly will help to ensure responding units arrive promptly.
